The importance of getting out of our comfort zone

We’ve all heard that change only happens outside of your comfort zone, or some variation of that saying. Wanting differently requires leaving behind many of our comforts. Though scary and sometimes downright terrifying, it’s necessary. Pushing past the limits that we set for ourselves (most times unknowingly)opens our ability to soar.

2020 has shown us all a lot. And whether we wanted to or not, we realized that we were made uncomfortable, things changed, and we will never be the “same”. None of it may have felt good or like it made any sense, but it gave us new perspective and propelled us forward.

Yoga is similar in this way. It doesn’t feel comfortable at first. It doesn’t even feel as if it’s working or worth the things our bodies and minds go through in the process of practicing. But once we push through (much like we did with 2020), we see that it was all for the greater good and the push out of our comfort zone was EXACTLY what we needed.
